As the Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for leading technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems. Serve as a senior technical expert in system administration for complex operating systems.  Provide third tier support escalation for all systems in the environment. Recommend enhancement changes to operating systems and system applications. Investigate and analyze system requirements and develop system specification. Identify methods, solutions, and provide project leadership to provide a high level of service to the company users.  Provide guidance to junior IT specialists in system administration.

• Supervise the day-to-day operations of Englert host computers by monitoring system performance, configuration, and maintenance.
• Build and report on newly defined business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.
• Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
• Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
• Propose and create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to the IT support and 3^rd Party management teams.
• Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
• Lead on developing new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts, and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability.
• Train technical staff in support newly deployed or acquired software and hardware.
• Provide Level 3 support in troubleshooting system issues.
• Lead problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations.
• Establish, maintain, and manage Windows and Mac accounts. Install, modify, and maintain system and utility software on server computer systems. Provide server support related to other software.
• Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical computer resources.
• Stays current with technological developments in system administration technology and recommend advancement in the technology stack.
• Assume additional related responsibilities as required.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms to include Azure and AWS services.
• Knowledge of backup, storage, and replication.
• Strong understanding of server platforms to include Windows, VMWare, Linux, and UCS.
• Knowledge of O365 administrative management including polices and user access.
• Knowledge of security practices for EDR, disk encryption.
• Skills in managing Active Directory including deploying AD security policies.
• Knowledge of IAM flows, services to include MFA, SSO, and Zero Trust methodologies.
• Basic understanding of industry standard cyber security strategies and systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related experience disciplines.
• Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year for year basis.
• 10+ years’ work experience with enterprise systems design, programming, and support.
• Knowledge of scripting utilizing PowerShell and other industry standard tools.
• Effective project management techniques.
• Ability to plan, organize and document complex system design activities effectively.
