Position Summary:

The Architectural Specifications Manager serves as the primary technical liaison between the company and the architectural community. This role is responsible for promoting, educating, and guiding architects, designers, and specifiers on the proper use and integration of the company's roofing systems and related products into construction documents. The Manager ensures the accuracy and consistency of technical specifications, supports the inclusion of products in project plans, and builds strong, long-term relationships with key design and architectural firms. This position plays a critical role in driving brand awareness, influencing product selection, and supporting the development of technically sound and code-compliant project specifications.

Responsibilities

Project Development & Lead Management

  • Maximize project leads by leveraging the commercial website database available in the marketplace to introduce and promote Englert roofing specifications, driving metal roofing growth in the commercial sector.

  • Identify and pursue new project opportunities, strategically positioning Englert roofing systems in architectural specifications to expand market share.

    Specification & Technical Support

Develop, streamline, and maintain up-to-date, code-compliant roofing specifications tailored for the commercial construction market.

  • Prepare technical submittals and customized roof specifications to support architects and design professionals.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for roofing specifications, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency in documentation.

    Architect & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with architects, specifiers, and design firms to encourage product inclusion in early project phases.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for the commercial website database available in the marketplace and architecture firms, and the sales team, ensuring seamless communication and alignment.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, architectural reps, quoting teams, and occasionally customers to support project success and adoption of specification.

  • Proactively engage with internal and external stakeholders to address concerns, provide solutions, and capture feedback for continuous improvement.

    Data Sharing, Reporting & Market Intelligence

  • Share and track lead activity with quoting and sales teams to ensure follow-up, maximize conversion rates, and monitor specification wins.

  • Communicate incoming project leads from website database tools or sales representatives, ensuring timely support and engagement.

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments to identify opportunities and maintain Englert's competitive edge.

    Operational & Team Support

  • Utilize internal tools and systems to streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, and maintain accurate project tracking.

  • Protect the confidentiality of client, project, and carrier information at all times.

  • Contribute to team initiatives and take on additional responsibilities as required to

    support broader business objectives.

Qualifications

Education & Technical Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • In-depth understanding of commercial roofing systems, especially metal roofing—and building envelope components.

  • Familiarity with architectural specification writing standards.5+ years of experience in the building materials, roofing, or architectural services industry.

  • Experience working with or supporting architectural firms, specifiers, or design professionals.

  • Proven success in managing product specifications and influencing product placement in construction documents.

  • Proficiency with project lead databases and platforms such as ConstructConnect, Dodge Data, or similar tools.

  • Strong ability to interpret architectural drawings, construction documents, and project scopes.

  • Skilled in preparing technical submittals, roof assemblies, and project-specific specifications.

  • Experience presenting to or training architectural audiences, either virtually or in person.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple

    priorities and deadlines.
